The opening lines of this song came to me while on a band road trip through the Midwest. Way out on a lonesome flat land highway it hitched a ride in my head. When it was time to put the words to music a girl I knew a long time ago came to mind and the memory of her filled in the rest of the lyrics. Only the name was changed to protect the innocent.
